With very few practical events during the COVID crisis the area organised a series of photo projects which started in April 2020.  See the Photos section of the website for the submissions in the 2020 Easter Welcome Wreath, May Posy and What Lockdown has meant for you competition, Autumn Antics competition and ‘Tis the Season virtual flower festival.

As virtual projects and online workshops are now common place it has become more relevant than ever to take good photos. To help members make the most of their designs the media team organised a workshop entitled Better Photos of Your Designs.  This presentation by Jenny Langton was extremely well received and has been followed up with a summary of the points covered – see BBandO Guide for Taking Better Photos.-Version2-JJL.2.21.  If your club would like this presentation for one of your Zoom meetings please click on Jenny Langton to make appropriate arrangements.

BB&O Photo Projects 

To align with the NAFAS Chairman’s Challenge (see below) BB&O will operate monthly non-competitive projects using these same titles.  Any member of the area may email a photo by clicking on BB&O Photos.    Please  include the appropriate title . eg Valentine Time  in the email title and include your name.  You can include photos on behalf of other members of your club if you wish.  The images can be of any craft item.  It doesn’t have to be floral – for example you could send a photo of a knitted item!  Just get imaginative using whatever you can find on the first few titles: Valentine Time and A Spring Bonnet.

NAFAS Chairman’s Challenge

To keep the creative juices going the new NAFAS Chairman, Katherine Kear initiated a monthly photo challenge, starting December 2020.  For more information on how it will work see Looking forward news.  The gist is that each club chairman submits to NAFAS one photo each month under the following titles.  These photos must not have been previously visible on any public website or social media site,  so the decision within BB&O is that our area chairman will ask specific individuals to send an appropriate image for passing on to NAFAS.  The winners of the BB&O 2020 photo competitions will be asked to provide the first few images.
