Booking Form for 2025 ‘Competing – Enjoy the Challenge’
Are you a seasoned competitor, a novice who wants to have a go at a local horticultural or club show, or somewhere in between? Whatever your experience with competing this event has something to offer: A fun area day with Competing as its central theme. The event will take place on Saturday 22nd March, 10.00-3.3pm in Benson.
There will be opportunities to:
- Learn how to obtain and understand a show schedule;
- Pick up tips on entering and staging
- Have a go at a competitive design
- Understand what a judge is looking for
- Review what is (and is not!) considered acceptable as plant material
- Learn from each other and enjoy the challenge of doing a design to a given title.
We hope this learning day will encourage as many people as possible to enter the BB&O Area Show which will be part of the Royal Windsor Show in June. In any case you will be better equipped to enter other shows with confidence: local shows, other area shows and maybe even the National Show in September in Gloucester. Let’s excel and enjoy.
The day will be led by a team Sheila Williams, Shirley Sexton, Pat Dibben and Jane Belcher. Cost of the day is £20. Tea/Coffee will be provided but BYO lunch. More details to be provided after booking.
