2024 Nomination for Alison Mount for Penelope Everett Trophy
Greys Flora would like to nominate Alison Mount for the Penelope Everett Bowl.
Alison had been a strong champion of floral art at all levels for many years, both as an active flower arranger herself and as a committee member and office holder at local and Area level.
She had been a member of Old Windsor Flower Club since 1977 with 13 years as Chairman. She had been a regular member of Greys for more years than we could remember!
She has also been Chairman of the BB&O Area and, before her untimely death, was the current Area President and despite her poor health she continued to take an active interest in Area meetings and activities.
She had been a keen competitive flower arranger for many years, competing individually and also representing the Area at local and National levels, including at Chelsea and at the World Show in Barbados in 2017.
Alison had arranged many flower festivals for local churches and notably the Area Flower Festival at Dorchester Abbey in 2018. She was a designer for the most recent Area Flower Festival at Pangbourne College in 2022.
Alison was a demonstrator and a teacher and had always been a strong advocate of flower arranging for young people.
Her contribution to floral art in our Area has been huge and always with so much wisdom, dignity and quiet charm.
We thoroughly recommend Alison for this Award.
Sara Steward, Chairman, Greys Flora
